About WritersScribe

Systematic review specialists who sharpen the review you’re already writing.

Methodologists, biostatisticians, information specialists, and editors - one team, focused entirely on systematic reviews, held to one line: we improve your review, we never author it for you.

What we do

Six stages, one review, one line we don’t cross.

Every stage strengthens a review you’re authoring. None of them produce a review submitted under our name instead of yours.

How it works

Four steps, always with you in the loop.

1

Tell us about your review

Share your research question, timeline, and what stage of the review you need support with.

2

We match a methodologist

A specialist with relevant subject-matter and methodological experience takes your project.

3

Review tracked changes

Get your work back with visible edits and margin notes explaining the methodological reasoning.

4

Ask follow-up questions

Message your consultant directly if anything needs clarifying before your deadline.

Our story

Founded by methodologists who were tired of the alternative.

WritersScribe was founded by a small group of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and journal peer reviewers who kept seeing the same problem: researchers needed real methodology support for systematic reviews, but most of the market offered to simply write the review instead.

We built a company around the harder, less lucrative answer - consultants who strengthen your methodology without touching your authorship, and who work on nothing but systematic reviews.

Mission

Help researchers produce systematic reviews that hold up under peer review, without ever speaking for them.

Vision

A research ecosystem where methodology consulting is a normal, respected part of producing a systematic review - not a shortcut around doing the work.

Values

What we won’t compromise on.

Precision over padding

We'd rather tell you a sentence is unclear than rewrite it into something unrecognizable.

A hard line on authorship

We consult, edit, and advise on your methodology. We do not conduct or submit a systematic review on a client's behalf - full stop.

Transparency in every edit

Every change comes with tracked edits and a note explaining the reasoning, not silent rewrites.

Respect for your voice

Good editing sounds more like you, not less - we preserve your argument and your register.

Standards

How we actually maintain rigor.

“Methodological rigor” is easy to claim and hard to demonstrate. Here is specifically what happens on our end before a piece of advice, an edit, or a risk-of-bias assessment reaches you.

Every consultant is matched to your project by subject area and methodological tradition — a Cochrane-aligned RCT synthesis and a JBI qualitative synthesis are not handled by the same consultant, because they genuinely require different expertise.

01

Framework-matched consulting

Cochrane, JBI, PRISMA, and GRADE each have real methodological differences. Your consultant works within the framework your review actually follows, not a generic template.

02

Second-set-of-eyes on judgment calls

Risk-of-bias ratings, tool selection, and model choice (fixed vs. random-effects) are the steps most likely to draw a reviewer objection — these get a documented second review before they reach you.

03

Reproducibility by default

Search strategies, statistical code, and extraction forms are delivered so anyone — you, your committee, a journal statistician — can rerun them and get the same result.

The team

Methodologists and consultants who sign off on their own work.

Every specialist holds an advanced degree relevant to systematic review methodology and is vetted for consulting experience before taking on client work.
